Quentin Tarantino

In 2003 Quentin Tarantino released Kill Bill vol.1 to mixed reaction. In this movie he made reference to old samurai and western movies. Quentin Tarantino has done this many times before and after. In Jackie Brown he harped on the blaxploitation films. After Kill Bill he co-directed and co-produced Grindhouse which was a direct recreation of the "grindhouse" films of the 70's. Quentin Tarantino would be considered a genre director.
